“Into the Streets May First” by Aaron Copeland

With May Day approaching, I thought it would be appropriate to post a brief article about a musical arrangement by the great Diesel Era composer Aaron Copeland: "Into the Streets May First."

Copeland's "Into the Streets May First" was actually written for the words of a poem by the same name penned by Alfred Hayes. Copeland’s work won the Workers Music League/New Masses May Day song competition in 1934.

For this posting, I’ve created a music video set to Copeland’s beautiful musical piece.
